Football Manager 2022: 10 Teams To Manage First

Another fallen giant - this time in German football - Schalke 04 were relegated to Bundesliga 2 at the conclusion of the 20/21 season and are struggling financially.

The club known as ‘The Royal Blues’ has great youth facilities that will likely become invaluable to contributing key players to the first team squad or, at the very least, for producing players to sell for profit in order to improve the financial situation.

With some good players in the first team, such as Salif Sane and Bundesliga 2 goal-scoring machine Simon Terodde, getting back into the Bundesliga proper shouldn’t be too much of a challenge. However, it's from there that things will get challenging as you fix the financial situation while trying to be competitive in the German top flight.

Fortunately, the team is blessed with a great youth academy that already features some very promising youngsters, including highly-rated Sidi Sane, the brother of Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane. This can make for an interesting save for those wanting to try and eventually topple Bayern Munich at the top of German Football.
