9. Know What Gear Is & Where It Counts

'Gear' is the name given to For Honor's equip-able pieces of armour and weaponry that are looted from the battlefield at the conclusion of each match. It's important to know that the only game mode where Gear comes into effect is 4-on-4 Dominion. This has presumably been done to keep balance in the Duel and Deathmatch gameplay modes, because it effects the stats of your Hero in significant ways.

Rather than just being cosmetic (although it is that too), Gear actually changes different stats for your character such as the amount of stamina or damage they use - or take - for certain moves. Change your Gear accordingly depending on the Hero you are using.

Moving too slow? Certain pieces may increase your movement speed and alleviate that problem somewhat. The game states that various Gear combos can alternate your playstyle, so think about how you're going to play on the battlefield, and which Hero you'll use.
