2. Alex Brand
One of the coolest characters introduced through the graphic novels, Alex remains one of the most underused characters in Gears.
Alex was meant to appear in Gears of War 3 but was switched out for Samantha during changes to the script. It was not until Gears of War: Judgment that Alex finally became playable and was even voiced by Laura Bailey.
The unfortunate fact is that she was only available as a pre-order bonus for the game. With not many people having faith in the first title to not be developed by the Gears icon, Cliffy B, it left the Alex DLC being a rarity among gamers. Eventually, she would be made a free download for anyone still playing Judgement.
Her fate remains a mystery within the new timeline so including her would give at least some hope that she will make a debut in the main campaign.
