Gears Of War 4 Review: 7 Ups & 7 Downs
3. All Those Glitches
Yes, glitches are par for the course when it comes to video games, but when a game releases with an 11GB day-one patch, you sure as hell expect that they're going to be mostly cleared up, right?
Well, playing GoW4's campaign on release day, it was clear just how unpolished the patched end product really is, with clipping being ludicrously abundant, especially whenever another character is carrying the fabricator (you can simply walk right through what is supposed to be a solid object).
Getting stuck in the environment or the camera jerking around violently also occurred occasionally, and for a series that prides itself on being slick and well-engineered, really makes this one feel surprisingly sloppy.
