God Of War: 10 Awesome Rare Items You Totally Missed

2. Pure Essence Of Realms (Resource)

The Item: Remember Aegir's Protection? This is how you upgrade it. You'll need three Pure Essence Of Realms to get it to the maximum level, but the thing is, there are only three in the entire game, making it extremely valuable and tricky to come by.

How To Get It: You can't buy this one from a shop like some of the other resources in the game, but fortunately, Pure Essence Of Realms can be found at three fixed locations (inside Realm Tears) instead of being random drops, which is helpful.

The first location is in the Wildwoods, inside the Hidden Chamber Of Odin by Kratos' home. Enter the chamber, head down the lift and close the Realm Tear to get your first Pure Essence.

Another can be found in Alfheim. When you enter the realm, you'll have to take a boat to get to the main area. When you emerge into the enormous lake, turn to the left and dock your boat at the nearby island. Here, head up the ramp to your left. You'll see three blue crystals on the floor. Have Atreus shoot them with Light arrows to spawn the Realm Tear.

The last is located in Konunsgard, just up the stairs from a Nornir Chest Winds of Hel puzzle. This Tear is a tough fight against three club-wielding, icy opponents, and with limited space, you'll definitely need to be on your toes.

Once you have all three Pure Essences, don't be afraid to use them - this item's only purpose is to upgrade the Aegir's Protection talisman.
