GOW 2018 managed to do a lot with a little.

While the original GOW trilogy each had a plethora of Greek Gods both aiding and hampering Kratos, the Norse reboot managed to get by with just one serious antagonist.

If you don't count Thor's sons, that is.

And even though Baldur was a fantastically intriguing character, it was a little surprising that Santa Monica only teased Odin and the other Gods through scattered hints and stories.

Although this served to deepen the Allfather's fearsome reputation, the final battle of Ragnarok would be a brilliant chance to reveal the Asgardians in all their glory, raising the stakes for Kratos and Atreus.

In fact, arguably the most important character in the Ragnarok arc is Heimdall, who duels with and kills Loki in the original story.

While it's unclear how closely Santa Monica will follow the mythology, it'd still be exciting to see Asgardian characters who aren't part of the marvel universe for a change. No disrespect to Idris Elba, of course.

Still, even if Ragnarok doesn't include any of the ensemble Gods, at least we'll have fun beating down a certain hammer themed God to a bloody pulp.
