6. It's NOT The Arkhamverse (But Benefits By Association)

Although the trailer seems to fit almost perfectly as a sequel to Rocksteady's Arkham Knight, Gotham Knights is not set within the Arkhamverse but is instead a new interpretation of characters set in DC's shared Batman universe. WB Games Montreal has already noted that,

“Gotham Knights is an original story set in DC’s Batman Universe and not connected to the Arkham series.”

This allows the game to create its own unique story without having to worry about the canonical events of the previous entries, whilst still building a new identity. It also follows DC's multiverse continuity overall, and how there can be different incarnations of the same character across one shared multiverse.

Gotham Knights may not be set in the Arkhamverse, but Rocksteady's Suicide Squad game is.

This allows players to see the effect that the loss of Gordon would have on characters in the Gotham City Police Department or on his daughter Barbara, but also introduce new gameplay mechanics, storylines or even different interpretations of characters and their dynamics going forward.
