GTA V: 10 Hillarious News Reports To Remind Us How "Evil" The Game Is

6. Senator Joe Manchin

Joe Gif GTA V was a target months before it even found its way into the hands of sweaty gamers across the globe. After the mass shooting in Sandy Hook, there were calls for tighter regulations around gun ownership. This prompted the National Rifle Association to come out all guns blazing and lay the blame, not with the gun, but at the door of the video game industry. U.S. Senator Joe Manchin agreed with them and said that he was proud of the stance the NRA had taken. He also called for GTA to be banned;
"Look at Grand Theft Auto, put out by Rockstar Games in New York City and see what it promotes. Shouldn€™t that be looked into and maybe be banned?"
I would understand that point of view if millions of people who play the game went out and attacked people with their collector€™s editions, but they don€™t. Instead, gun nuts like Senator Manchin and the NRA have more love for the shotgun than they do for dealing with the real causes of these mass shootings.
