5. The Tone

As you'll already know, the last GTA game set in Los Santos was San Andreas and its main focal point was gang culture; the tone emanated out from that central concept. However, GTA V is apparently all about capturing the "contemporary culture of LA". So, to me, this means we can expect to be getting involved in some ill-motivated way with the film industry, the music industry and most certainly the cocaine and ecstacy industry (although that's perhaps a given - it
is a GTA game after all). This will affect everything; the people we meet, the missions we're sent on; everything. Despite the fact that GTA V is set in the same place as San Andreas, it's going to be a completely different beast all together. Perhaps this one goes without saying - we already knew GTA V was set in modern day Los Santos (and San Andreas in the early nineties) - so the fact that 'contemporary LA culture' is the main focus is maybe already old news. Still, it's nice to finally hear some solid information on the subject from R*.
