GTA V: 10 Reasons You Should Still Be Playing GTA IV

4.Niko & Friends

The friendship mechanic is a font of endless woe to some. After all there€™s surely nothing more frustrating than being called by Roman for a round of darts when you€™re about to attempt a seemingly impossible mission for the nineteenth time. That€™s how pads get snapped€ But when you€™re calm though, after a huge gun battle or a 20 mile car chase, there€™s nothing quite like chilling with Little Jacob over a game of pool at the Homebrew Café or taking in a gay cowboy show with Brucie at the Cabaret Club. In real life friends sometimes get in the way; they need you when you€™re busy, they ask for favours, they cock block you accidentally on purpose. Sometimes friends are a pain in the ass. But put the time in and they€™ll inevitably reward you. Your in-game friends are cool, they€™ve got a seemingly endless ream of dialogue to spout about any given situation and above all else they€™re often hilarious. All you have to do is listen. In many ways this is emblematic of real life which is what Rockstar were invariably going for with this whole friend system (although in real life you probably won€™t get access to a trunk full of automatic weapons in your new friend€™s car just for beating him at the bowling).
