5. Customization
You can change your outfits in GTA V, that much we know, but gone are the days of eating so many cluckin' bells that you spew, or going to the gym, working out, going home, saving your game, going to the gym again (rinse and repeat) until you muscle is so maxed out that I am sure CJ moved slower. But who needs it? These characters have so much more to them than making them look fat. They are fully formed, with back stories, lives, objectives, hopes and dreams. Where Rockstar want these characters to go they will go, making them so fat that they wouldn't be able to run through downtown Los Santos in a hail of bullets just wouldn't suit the tone.
