GTA V: 10 Ways It Will Make History

8. Strategy

Let's be honest, beyond from its newly honed cover-and-fire mechanic, GTA has never really been a title that focuses on strategy and planning. However, with three fully controllable protagonists who are confirmed to have separate strengths, weaknesses and abilities, this is almost certainly no longer the case. In GTA V, you'll be able to choose to use these three characters, with their different strengths and weaknesses, strategically in-mission. For example, according to Game Informer, during a chase mission you'll be able to switch control between Trevor (an ex-pilot) in the getaway chopper, Michael (an ex-bank robber) on the Assault Rifle rifle or Franklin (the ambitious hustler) who takes Sniper Rifle duties. What's more, you'll be able to switch characters at any, effectively allowing allowing players to, maybe for the first time ever, launch strategic three pronged assaults on the enemy. If this doesn't sound revolutionary that what the hell does? Not to mention the possibilty that maybe - just maybe - there'll be the opportunity for three-man co-op gameplay within the confines of this mechanic. I don't see why there shouldn't be. But with nothing solid on that front I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
