GTA V: "The Shed" And 5 More Myths & Legends We Want To See

4. Bigfoot

Big Foot2 The Back-o-Beyond region of San Andreas was everyone's favourite location for a short while back when GTA San Andreas was at the peak of its popularity. Inside this murky, forested woodland, many claimed, dwelt a mysterious "Big Foot" creature lurking in the smog. The "Big Foot Rumour" actually pre-dates San Andreas and goes all the way back to GTA III; players have reported seeing him in northern Cedar Grove and nearby mountainous areas of Shoreside Vale. But it was in San Andreas that the legend really came to life. Rockstar themselves even teased the possibility of the existence of a Yetti creature by crediting an individual named "Big Foot" in the "Thanks To" section of the in-game brochure. Fans flocked onto chat forums with photos claiming to be sightings of Sasquatch, of course, virtually all of them had been photoshopped (some comically so) but the rumour was so fierce Rockstar had to release a statement. In an official interview with Rockstar Games co-founder Terry Donovan, released in 2005, he stated:
"There is no Bigfoot, just like in real life. But there is something in the woods."
The GTA Big Foot rumour never died. In Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare expansion pack, there is a side mission that allows the player to hunt and kill Sasquatches. Upon killing the first, an achievement is awarded, titled "Six Years In The Making", a direct reference to the San Andreas myth. We'd love it if Rockstar, as a nod to those heady days of 2004, included a Big Foot creature, just to bring everything full-circle.
