Hades Tips: 10 Crazy Tricks & Builds You Need To Try
5. The First Move Meg
Another move favoured by speedrunners involves the later game mechanic of deepening your relationships with certain characters to receive their Cthonic Companions.
Megaera's Companion Battie is the most consistent of the lot, with her damage output being immediate and immense, able to take out more than one enemy in a line with series of large circles on the ground that strips 2500 HP down a line.
It's often most prudent to use Battie in boss battles as your very first move, as the enemies have yet to move from their spots, or at least quickly position Zag, then use Meg, so that her attack will align properly (such as in the Elysium boss battle to hit both Theseus and Asterius).
Most bosses have armour that prevents them from staggering, and removing their armour entirely can help make the rest of the fight much easier.
However, Meg's use in some specific fights has to be delayed, such as the Megagorgon or Witches Circle mini-bosses in Asphodel, which need perfect timing to get maximum effectiveness.
It's also prudent to use her later in the final boss battle, when Hades is standing still for an extended period and not about to disappear.
