Hell Let Loose: 10 Reasons It's The Most Brutal WW2 Shooter Ever
5. Player Progression
As with most modern shooters, Black Matter’s WW2 shooter features a player progression system to entice players back to the game time and time again.
However, rather than just throwing mounds of garish and over-the-top weapon skins at you that look out of place in the game’s setting, Hell Let Loose instead gives you authentic uniforms and weapons for each of the different roles.
Progression is handled at both the player level, which offers new ranks as you progress, as well as at each separate role, which unlocks weapons and cosmetics the more time you spend playing as that role.
Unlocks are relatively slow when compared to other games, but this encourages you continue playing specific roles to unlock their weapons before moving on to learn one of the other roles and unlock all of its gear.
It’s also worth noting that the game does not feature any microtransactions (apart from a couple of unique uniforms) or battle passes that allow players to purchase weapons or upgrades. This means that currently the only way to unlock the weapons and most of the cosmetics in the game is to actually play the game and gain experience using each of the roles.
