Horizon Forbidden West: 10 Confirmed Details You NEED To Know
3. Underwater Exploration And Combat
From the first glimpses of the trailer, we see that underwater exploration and combat will play a big part in this game. With San Francisco mostly submerged you can be sure there is a lot to find and to fight below the surface. On talking about the game world, Game Director Mathijs De Jonge said, "We wanted to let players discover what lies hidden beneath lakes and rivers."
Just like the last game, the depth of the world seems to be a big piece of Guerilla Games world-building puzzle. Previously we had Aloy delving deep into the ruins of ancient buildings underground, this time we will see her doing the same underwater. Exploring landmarks like the San Francisco Ferry Building underwater will be interesting at the very least.
There is a moment in the trailer that we see Aloy hiding in the weeds from Snapmaws above her head. This gives us the impression that underwater stealth and combat is also going to be more of an option for us in this game. I mean, the idea of fighting a mechanised version of quite possibly the most terrifying apex predator in their own environment sounds very stupid.
Still, you can guarantee we'll be trying all the same.
