Horizon Zero Dawn Gameplay Roundup: 11 Things You Need To Know
7. You Climb To Unlock The Map From Atop 'Tallnecks'
Another one for the "If it ain't broke, should we ever fix it?" pile, you'll be in one of two camps when it comes to the whole 'climb a tower to unlock the map' open-world design Ubisoft have pioneered across the last decade.
Indeed, Horizon is yet another open-world game to lock away chunks of the map behind climbable tall structures - in this case being those massive Brachiosaurus-looking creatures named 'Tallnecks'. You'll have to figure out how to clamber up their hulking frames, Shadow of the Colossus-style, but once you've got a foothold, Aloy's vision mode will highlight in a stark colour precisely where to go next.
Personally it's a little off-putting in a pandering sense, simply showcasing so obviously where the player is go next, but I welcome answers in the comments as to whether 'vision modes' have run their course at this point.
