Horizon Zero Dawn Gameplay Roundup: 11 Things You Need To Know
6. Climbing Is Straight Out Of Uncharted/Assassin's Creed/Tomb Raider
Speaking of climbing and those Shadow of the Colossus comparisons, Guerrilla aren't implementing any sort of momentum or physics-based system to your movements. There won't be any 'grip meter' or visual onscreen to dictate how long you can dangle off the side of a structure or creature, as instead the climbing animations themselves look surprisingly identical to that of Assassin's Creed.
Granted, there are only so many ways a human being can climb a given structure, it's simply the case of Horizon dropping after we've had years upon years of Assassin's Creed, Tomb Raider's reboot and now Uncharted 4 fleshing these options out.
All that said, if you like the notion of pointing your character at a given thing and watching them go to work, you'll be more than happy with the 'no thrills' way Horizon handles Aloy's acrobatics.
