Horizon Zero Dawn Reviews: 12 Critical Reactions You Need To Know
10. Stealth Is Too Simplistic
"The stealth is satisfying, though some of the options you get to handle enemies can be a little game-breaking. For example, hiding in tall grass means you're effectively invisible, provided you haven't already been spotted." - Giant Bomb
"Many will argue that the stealth and combat is fundamentally too simplistic, and they do have a point. Eventually you begin to realise that it’s often best to just avoid the robots rather than getting into a fight, encouraging you to circumvent most of the gameplay." - Metro
By far one of the most common complaints about Horizon is the disappointing simplicity of the stealth gameplay, which seems to be far too forgiving and has been negatively compared to the nuance of Metal Gear Solid V in particular.
Considering how ubiquitous stealth is in the open-world genre, it's a shame it seems to be so piecemeal and basic here, perhaps in an attempt to lure in more casual gamers and keep things from getting too challenging.
If it's really that "game breaking" though, perhaps Guerrilla may issue a patch in due course?
