Coming by superheroes with an immense cult status isn't difficult to come by, but one that's developed with barely any exposure whatsoever? That's impressive, and, if you're at all familiar with Virgil Hawkins, you should know just how passionate his fans can get.

Created by the late great Dwayne McDuffie, as well as other DC Comics scribes like Denys Cowan, Static became one of the company's best remembered properties, largely thanks to the animated series that followed soon after the character's original debut.

He's long been requested for an Injustice appearance for some time now, and considering he appeared in the title's mobile counterpart (albeit in an awful costume that makes it look as though Virgil's just emerged from Vault 111), an appearance in the sequel only makes sense.
