2. Why Is Everyone Fighting? (Mongul?)

In case you somehow hadn't noticed already, each and every character shown in Injustice 2's reveal trailer was fighting each other. Indiscriminate violence has been the hallmark of DC's media excursions in recent years, but in this case there could be a fairly fantastical reason behind the fight to the death we're witnessing.

Contrary to popular belief, pitching heroes against one another has been a long and tired trope of the comic book medium for decades.

In DC's case, one such arena in which they would compete was on Warworld, a planet ruled by the ruthless dictator Mongul that thrives on carnage and destruction. Keeping in theme with the narration of the trailer, you can see where I'm going with this theory.

Of course, there could be other explanations as to why all these heroes are fighting against each other; maybe they each have their own faction, backed by their own allies and anti-heroes.

Either way it's an extremely important detail to note, and one that could have easily just revealed the character behind that ominous narration...
