Kingdom Hearts 4: 12 Disney & Pixar Worlds We Want To See

From the Land of the Dead to the bayous of New Orleans, what's next?

Kingdom Hearts 3

Earlier this year, Kingdom Hearts III brought an end to a wait that often felt like an eternity for fans.

In wrapping up the Xehanort saga, the sequel brought the first big era of the franchise to a close, while leaving numerous doors open for where it can go next. Whether that's in the form of a proper Kingdom Hearts 4 or a stepping stone game on the way though, remains to be seen.

Of course, one of the biggest ongoing draws about the franchise has been its usage of Disney properties, and the third game took us to new worlds based on popular franchises like Frozen, Tangled, Toy Story, Big Hero 6 and Monster's Inc. Even with all those new inclusions though, there's still a vast pool of Disney/Pixar history to pull from - many of which would be perfect fits for the next game in the series.

Setting aside stuff like Star Wars and Marvel - that's a conversation for another day - let's take a look at 12 films from Disney and Pixar that would fit right into the quirky universe of Kingdom Hearts.

12. The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book is one of Disney Animation's oldest films that has yet to appear in the series in some way, either as a world all its own or through the appearance of some of its characters. The film itself is still a beloved classic, and considering Disney's own live-action remake from 2016 made a boatload of money, it's clear that the studio's iteration of Rudyard Kipling's book is still dear to many.

It's also no secret that The Jungle Book was intended to be a part of Birth by Sleep, with a world that was being designed only to ultimately be cut during production. Unfortunately, after almost a decade since that game's release, the movie hasn't resurfaced elsewhere in the series, meaning we're long overdue to see Sora and the gang - or any other playable protagonist - drop in on Mowgli's world.

With Tarzan's lush jungle long gone from the franchise, The Jungle Book could fill its colourful void, and it'd be great to see and interact with characters like Baloo, King Louie, Kaa, and the villainous Shere Khan.

No matter how it's handled, The Jungle Book would be a welcome addition to the series, whose mere inclusion would undoubtedly make fans who have wanted to see older films get their due very happy.
