3. Wolverine

Wolverine has pretty much played the same since the original X-Men: Legends, blending a flurry of claw slashes with a bezerker rage, so it might be tempting to swap him out for someone new, but it's difficult to get away from just how effective he is in combat.

His claw uppercut special ability is great for tanking an enemy's stagger meter, while a claw onslaught that can be spammed until you're completely empty of energy makes mince meat of even the toughest enemies. Seriously, this thing is kinda OP, and when combined with other abilities, drains the health of anyone in your path.

The classic yellow costume is a joy as well, and it's nice to see the devs fully embracing the character's comic-book roots.
