Can we just take a second to appreciate how cool the suitcase suit was? Sure, there are more practical ways to carry your superhero costume around, but come on, this thing looked awesome.

The armour was a departure from the traditional red and gold paint job, opting for chrome as the secondary colour. Due to its ability to fold into a suitcase, it's characterised by the interlocking pieces which retract when the suit is out of use.

During Iron Man 2, the Mark V was called upon earlier than planned as Stark was attacked by Vanko. Unfortunately, the armour wasn't designed for high powered enemies or weapons. Stark had built it with the intention to only use the suit would for emergency use in a civilian setting. As a result, it was completely useless against the villain's whips and the suit was nearly destroyed, with Tony in it.

Stark went back to the drawing board and fixed up a new version of the Mark V, though it was never deployed again. Once he had perfected the Mark VII, the suitcase armour was placed in the Hall of Armour, before being destroyed along with Tony's Malibu mansion.
