Marvel's Avengers: 10 Iconic Iron Man Armours That NEED To Be Included
2. Mark XXXVII: Bleeding Edge
There's little chance Crystal Dynamics would leave out this fan favourite suit.
The Bleeding Edge armour marked the next big overhaul after years in the Extremis armour. Upgraded from head to toe, the new nanotech was again buried within Stark's body and are able to manifest at his will. It's by far the most flexible armour Iron Man has ever sported and features heavily in the Infinity War/Endgame films.
Visually, it takes influence from the classic red and gold design, but it can take literally any form Stark needs it to, even civilian clothes. The nanotech's flexibility means it can create new weapons in a blink of an eye, most famously the giant arm cannon, energy swords or even wings.
The Mark XXXVII would become the basis of nearly all of Stark's suits going forward, including
the Asgardian powered Iron Destroyer. However, when Stark retires in
2012's Long Way Down arc, he undergoes surgical procedures in order to
remove the nanotech from his body. He later rebuilt the armour without
any nanotech when the Punisher managed to steal the Mark XLII.
