We've heard of not making deals with terrorists, but Shepard takes this just a little too far. During Mass Effect 2, Shepard and his crew encounters Kolyat, the son of Thane Krios. Kolyat has taken up a job as a hitman, and is holding a Turian politician as hostage. It is possible to end the situation without a fatality, but where's the fun in that? Renegade Shepards are given the opportunity to just shoot the hostage themselves. It's not exactly the fairest or most logical thing to do in the world, but Shepard isn't here to win a humanitarian award. In fairness, a dead hostage isn't exactly the greatest bargaining chip, so Kolyat gets left with nothing to negotiate with. Throughout the series, Shepard can engage in some activities with rather grey morality, but this has to be one of the character's most cynically badass moments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrHaPTG2V3I
