14. Understanding How To Apply Weapon Mods

The Research and Development system is a minefield in itself (which I'll get to), but just know that as the game throws all its systems at you in quick succession, weapon and armour mods you research can't actually be applied to equipment already in your inventory.

Bizarrely, these mods only factor into a new weapons you create during the Development process, so if you spent the Research Points unlocking some sweet grenade launcher component and are wondering where it went, you'll have to stump up the necessary materials to make another new weapon or piece of armour (for shield buffs and boosts), and attach it there instead.
