4. Zaeed's Son (Mass Effect 2/3)

Something of a cult hero amongst fans, Zaeed Massani was a DLC character first added in Mass Effect 2, but who would show up in Mass Effect 3, providing you carried over your initial save.

An almost Punisher-like warrior of a man with black humour and utter desensitisation to the world(s) around him, in Andromeda we find out he actually sired a son.

You'll need to complete the first mission on Eos to unlock 'Kett's Bane' in your log, but follow that up and you'll meet Bane Massani - Zaeed's protégé of sorts.

Though talking to Bane reveals Zaeed wasn't around for any of his upbringing, the younger Massani still fell into a life of similarly battle-hardened mercenary work. Like Cassandra Verner, you can't recruit Massani, but it's another uber-subtle nod to the original trilogy that'll resonate with specific fans in particular.
