Speaking of performances that are astonishingly bad, Bioware tried to do a "He's just a down to Earth guy!" thing with Liam, which routinely fails because voice actor Gary Carr was either told to do (or not told to stop doing) a weirdly stilted, rushed pronunciation of everything.

Watch any cutscene with him and all the inflections and intonations are off, and that's just basic speech. Factor in emotions like rage or sequences that require humour and levity, and it falls apart even more.

Liam means well, as I imagine Bioware did too, but the reality is a character that only drinks beer, fixes up a car and goes on jaunty Star-Lord style space missions because his character model does, not because the character as performed feels like it would.
