Metal Gear Rising Revengeance: 10 Reasons It Won't Live Up To The Hype

6. Crappy Lip Sync

One of the mainstays of any game with the words "Metal Gear" in it is the superb codec system, which allows players to communicate with their support team back at base. It was expected to appear here in all its HD glory, yet it actually ends up feeling several generations old, given how absolutely atrocious the lip sync is throughout. Talking to Boris during the game, it's as though the facial animations hadn't yet been tweaked from the Japanese version; his mouth moves when he's not speaking, and then doesn't move when he is - it looks horribly sloppy for a game of this magnitude, and the "it's just a demo" excuse doesn't really wash when you consider that the game is just a few short weeks away from shipping to our homes. The overall feeling was that even the decade-old Metal Gear Solid had more together lip sync than this, and given how long Platinum Games has had to iron everything out, if this remains in the final game, then that is a catastrophic failure indeed.
