10. Who Is Ermac?
Since Ermac was announced as a DLC character in MK1, it was no surprise when the multi-souled being appeared in the Story Mode.
However, players was shocked to learn Ermac harboured the soul of a classic character. While facing Mileena, the spirit of her father, Jerrod awakened in Ermac, allowing him to wrangle control of the entity's body. Following Mileena, Jerrod tracked down Kitana and Sindel, reuniting the entire family.
Sadly, Sindel was murdered moments later, ending the heartfelt reunion. To ensure he would never part with his lover again, Jerrod absorbed Sindel's soul into Ermac, allowing them to be together once more.
Even though Jerrod has been constantly mentioned since MK3, he's rarely made an appearance. As such, it was a nice surprise to see Outworld's former emperor play a pivotal role in the overarching narrative for once.
