Mortal Kombat 11: 10 Action Hero Guest Characters We Want
4. Snake Plissken
S.D. Bob ‘Snake’ Plissken was the character played by Kurt Russell in the 1981 film Escape from New York. Special Forces operator turned criminal, Plissken is an inmate at the New York maximum security prison, which in reality is the walled off island of Manhattan.
When Air Force One crash lands inside the walls, Plissken takes it upon himself to assist in the rescue of the President. Russell reprised the role in the 1996 film Escape from L.A.
While the latter film was poorly received by fans, Escape from New York is considered a classic action hit from the 1980’s. Snake Plissken would feel at home among the cast of Mortal Kombat.
NetherRealm Studios could choose to make him another Special Forces style character or making him more ambiguous, aligning him with Kano and Kabal. Atlernativly, he could be portrayed similarly to Erron Black, another hired gun style character just doing what he needs to survive.
Getting Russell for the role would certainly make the character stand out. The role is synonymous with Russell’s appearance and performance, and translating this into Mortal Kombat would be the best way to capture the character.
