4. Geras

The first brand new character announced for Mortal Kombat 11, Geras' origins are still shrouded in mystery, though he has been described as a " loyal servant" of the game's main villain.

An elemental fighter, the first footage of Geras in action showed him conjuring sand and - as per the theme of the game - manipulating time. Also, during one of his fatalities, he punches his opponent so hard in the back of the head that their brain literally knocks their face off their skull.

Visually speaking, the character looks like he could have just walked out of Injustice 2, evoking the style of a super-villain more than a Mortal Kombat character. That level of bombast might just be what the sequel needs though, and a badass, elemental fighter could shake up the roster massively.
