Mortal Kombat 12: 10 Underrated Characters We Want To See

1. Motaro

Motaro was introduced in 1995's Mortal Kombat 3. Following the footsteps of Goro and Kintaro, this centaur served as the penultimate boss before facing off against Shao Kahn. He served as the emperor's new general, having his people replace the formerly favored Shokans. The four legged menace led the Kahn's extermination squads, killing people left and right and most notably, Johnny Cage.

As the sub-boss, Motaro was unforgiving as well. With his unblockable attacks and deadly projectiles, he could deal the players so much damage. Despite his difficulty and cool design, he would make scarce appearances in the franchise.

His only return was in 2006's Armageddon but because the series transitioned into 3D, this meant Motaro had to change. Because of his unique body structure and limitations, the once four-legged centaur was now two-legged in order to be equal with other fighters.

This choice proved to be controversial amongst fans as the centaur lost the thing that made him unique.

This design obstacle was also the reason why Motaro was counted out in Mortal Kombat (2011), the only character from the original trilogy to do so. But with advances in technology, NetherRealm Studios can surely find a way to bring the villain back into the fold.
