Generally, Outworld was home to Mortal Kombat's numerous bad guys. From Shao Kahn to Baraka, this realm usually meant trouble for Earth's heroes. But in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, we were introduced to Outworld native Li Mei who proved that not all Outworlders were bad.

A member of her native village, she joined the forces of good as Shang Tsung and Quan Chi enslaved her people. She impressed the Deadly Alliance by putting up a fight against Kano which led to them offering her a chance to win the freedom of her people by participating in a new tournament.

Unfortunately for Li Mei, her victory led to her soul being transferred to one of the Dragon King's mummified soldiers. She was later rescued by another good Outworld native Bo Rai Cho. Li Mei would then join the forces of good though was killed by Hotaru in Armageddon.

Li Mei has the distinction of being one of the few Deadly Alliance characters to be playable in the 3D Era trilogy. At the same time, she was notable enough to have a cameo in Mortal Kombat X's Story Mode and most recently, as a fighter in the animated film Mortal Kombat: Battle of the Realms.
