Mortal Kombat Movie: Every Character & Actor Confirmed So Far
11. Liu Kang
Played by: Ludi Lin
If the original Mortal Kombat game (and, indeed, the original films) had a hero, it was Liu Kang.
Originally meant to be a bald-headed Shaolin monk type character, the actor refused to shave his head and Liu was redesigned to more closely resemble Bruce Lee. Screaming a lot as he zips around the screen doing flying kicks and throwing fireballs, Liu's connection to the dragon became even clearer in Mortal Kombat II, when he actually starts turning into one for a fatality.
A descendant of the Great Kung Lao (the original defender of Earthrealm), Liu Kang is a member of the White Lotus Society, and was raised to fight in Mortal Kombat.
With Earthrealm one final loss away from being conquered by Outworld, Liu Kang defeated Goro and Shang Tsung, becoming the new Kombat champion in the first game.
Ludi Lin has been cast as the latest version of Liu Kang. While Lin has been acting for a little over a decade, he's only recently starting to find success, with his biggest name role so far being that of Zack, the black ranger in 2017's Power Rangers reboot movie.
