NBA 2K19 MyGM: 30 Franchise-Saving Trades You Must Make
17. Los Angeles Lakers
Players Out (position, rating, contract value/length, age):
Lonzo Ball (PG, 79, $7.46m/1, 20), Rajon Rondo (PG, 77, $9m/1, 32)
Players In (Portland Trail Blazers):
Damian Lillard (PG, 90, $89.41m/3, 28)
Why:
Though LeBron's Baby Lakers will be contenders in the west, there's little chance they'll break the Warriors' strangehold in their current form. This young, developing squad isn't there, and 'The King' needs help.
Ball is promising, and will learn boatloads from Rondo in real-life, but he's years away from developing into a go-to option. Lillard, meanwhile, is one of the association's most potent offensive weapons. He's exactly the kind of player the Lakers must acquire to fulfil James' ambitions, though a supporting cast of Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, and Lance Stephenson probably still isn't enough.
