8. The Soundtrack

While the loading times in NBA games aren't necessarily painful to sit through, having a phenomenal soundtrack playing in the background certainly makes the time pass much quicker. The songs that have been chosen for this year's playlist will seemingly continue this trend with a vast array of popular artists.

Playing host to songs from artists such as The Weeknd, Juice WRLD, and Stormzy, amongst a host of others, the playlist matches the NBA 2K criteria of featuring mostly rock, pop, and rap. For example, the past few games have had songs from artists like Fall Out Boy, Black Veil Brides, Sia, Travis Scott, and Billie Eilish.

Of course, a soundtrack isn't the be-all and end-all of a video game - in fact, you'd be rather silly to judge a game based solely around this. However, a game with a decent soundtrack will perhaps be remembered more than one without it.

NBA themselves have posted the NBA 2K21 playlist in its entirety on Spotify.
