NBA 2K22: 10 Things We Already Know
7. The Release Date
Since NBA 2K16, the basketball series has always been released on a September date.
2K16 was on 29 September, 2K17 on 20 September, 2K18 on 19 September, 2K19 on 11 September, 2K20 on 6 September, and 2K21 on 4 September, being the earliest NBA game to hit shelves, despite the ongoing global b*stard.
NBA 2K22, meanwhile, will release on Friday, 10 September. Unlike the two-month delay last year, it appears as if this release date is for all consoles.
It's admirable to an extent that Visual Concepts has been able to deliver the game in such a quick turnaround. Though they achieve the goal on a yearly basis with only minor tweaks made to the gameplay experience, it remains an impressive feat. For an industry that's always developing, the in-game updates revolve around this, keeping the game as up-to-date as the actual NBA is in reality.
For what it's worth, there doesn't appear to be a demo releasing for the game this year, which comes as quite a surprise. NBA 2K21, for example, had its demo launched on 24 August, just under two weeks before the official game released.
