Nintendo NX: 10 Essential Video Games That Must Be Launch Titles

The Donkey Kong Country franchise is one of the most consistently acclaimed sets of Kong games, and with damn good reason.

Though developer Retro Studios is reportedly working on something for the NX that is neither DK nor Metroid, it's entirely possible that another outfit will take over developmental duties for DK's first outing on Nintendo's new hardware.

While that is undeniably risky, Nintendo are either going to entrust the series to a dev with a proven track record, or alternatively wait until Retro's schedule frees up, which could mean that a new DKC would miss the NX launch date.

It's probably best not to expect this to arrive on day one, as much as we all want it to, but there's still an outside possibility of being pleasantly surprised all the same.
