Nintendo NX: 7 Reasons Why 2016 Release Is A Bad Idea

6. The Cost

Not only would some Wii U users feel like their console has been given up on prematurely, but they'd obviously be forced to shell out a good amount on a new system. Nintendo have been excellent in serving up affordable consoles in comparison to Sony and Microsoft's big-money, high-quality machines, but that could be about to change. The Wii U's flop controller costs over £100 to replace, and they're still unavailable to purchase individually. You're only allowed one. And Wii U games only need one. The NX must be affordable, its controller must be affordable, yet the console must be quality, not another pretty plastic shell with no serious technology underneath it. There's a lot of new tech ready to burst onto the scene in the shape of 4k and VR, but it's all too expensive for the mainstream right now. 2016 would be too early for it to be affordable, yet not including features along those lines will set the console behind.
