3. AR Cards

AR cards relate very closely to the Amiibos, VR and holo-lens concepts, but they're certainly an area that Nintendo will be exploring in search of the next big trend. Trading cards have always been a huge deal, from sports figures to Pokemon, there's always been a thirsty audience for card content.

The 3DS already uses this technology, but you can expect it to transition into the NX, in whatever form the console takes. Viewed through the 3DS camera, the cards turn into 3D versions of the characters for you to pose with, while some can also be dropped into games. It feels like a trial run for a more complete augmented reality experience, so expect them to play a part in the NX. Could this also mean a camera on the controller, or the console itself?
