Nintendo Switch: 10 Awesome Games With Overdue Sequels

1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Splatoon 3
Nintendo

Mario Kart 8 is technically a Nintendo Wii U game, and that makes its success on the Nintendo Switch all the more impressive. Not only is it the best selling Nintendo Switch game to date, but it's the best kart racer ever made. Mario Kart 9 needs the Smash Ultimate treatment!

Mario Kart 8 is damn near perfection, and that comes from a Double-Dash die-hard. There's just no denying that silky smooth gameplay, swathe of characters, incredible tracks, and shockingly deep customisation options. And yet there is plenty of room for more.

As Nintendo proved with Smash Ultimate last year, it isn't afraid to cram everything into one game. So why not give us the same roster of characters? Who wouldn't want to race with Kirby, Samus, Banjo Kazooie, Fox McCloud, Pikachu, Solid Snake, or Pac-Man?

How about levels that reflect those characters, like driving around Big Shell from Metal Gear, Dracula's Castle from CastleVania, or a town from Pokémon with Diglett popping up from the ground? The possibilities are immediately inviting, and just need to happen.

On top of that, throw in some classic tracks but retain the original art-style for said track. As its biggest series, Nintendo should give us the big, bombastic kart racer we've always dreamt of.
