Nintendo Switch: 15 GameCube Games That Must Be On Virtual Console

1. Super Mario Sunshine

There are plenty that dislike this particular entry into the 3D Mario series and some hardcore Nintendo fans that only enjoyed the bonus levels where Mario was left without the Flash Liquidizing Ultra Dousing Device (aka F.L.U.D.D.) Players felt that the jetpack-like F.L.U.D.D. made jumping and reaching platforms far too easy and that the game therefore lacked challenge when compared with Super Mario 64.

This speaks to one of the problems the Nintendo GameCube faced: sequels to the huge games of the Nintendo 64 era simply came too late. Super Mario 64 hit in 1996 and Super Mario Sunshine wasn’t out until 2002 – some six years and a whole system later. This left fans hungry and expectations sky-high.

But those who do enjoy Super Mario Sunshine know that it has a charm all of its own: the setting is vibrant and fun and all the levels are thematically similar. Movement is different with the F.L.U.D.D. and some of the nozzles switch up the gameplay a fair bit. Plus there was Yoshi, so that’s always a bonus.
