A number of guests came on stage to speak of their support for Nintendo including SUDA51, Toshihiro Nagoshi from SEGA, Patrick Söderlund from EA and video clips were played of others like Todd Howard from Bethesda.

This rapid fire switching between guest speakers meant that a number of games were confirmed. Skyrim is coming to Nintendo Switch but no release date was given. A number of Dragon Quests are Switch-bound, including X, XI alongside Dragon Quest Heroes I & II.

A new Shin Megami Tensei is inbound. SquareEnix are working on a retro-inspired game called Project Octopath Traveller which looks very 16-bit Final Fantasy in character sprites but 3D and lovely in all its background environments.

Perhaps the best surprise was SUDA51 promising the return of Travis Touchdown. He did not specifically say No More Heroes 3 - as he's yet to finalise a title and it sounds as though the game is in very early stages of development - but it's great for Nintendo to have such an off-the-wall creator back on board again.

Having a good number of Japanese RPG titles is going to win over the home crowd and attract more hardcore fans in the west - clearly a win-win for Nintendo and their 3rd party development teams.
