Nintendo Switch Reveal: 10 Things We Learned
6. Battery Life Confirmed As Between 2.5 - 6.5 Hours
This one is where a number of doom-mongers will step in. And rightly so, unless Nintendo does the same as they did with the Wii U and offer an extended battery that you can buy and swap in yourself.
The battery life for the Nintendo Switch was given as two and a half to six and a half hours. This will obviously vary on the game being played, whether wifi is in use, the screen brightness and so on. It's a shame given that this system is designed as a hybrid and the real reason will be cost saving on Nintendo's side.
The lower end of the scale is a little disappointing but Nintendo did state players would be able to charge the machine on the go with USB-C. Hopefully 3rd party accessory companies can step in and offer portable charging solutions as is the case with many Samsung and Apple mobile phones.
