No Man's Sky: 10 Coolest Things You Must Do
6. Make Your Own Shelter When The Environment Gets Hazardous

One of the most useful upgrades you can grab for the Multi Tool is the addition of a plasma grenade blaster, and it's not too difficult to come across this early in the game. But, while you may be thinking this is solely a combat-based benefit, the plasma grenades have more uses than you may think.
With the vast majority of the planets in the game - or at least the ones I've been unlucky enough to land on - boasting some sort of hazardous atmosphere, constantly finding shelter to refill your suit's hazard protection can be a real pain. It's not the only way to stay safe, though, and if you find yourself stuck in a storm or under sudden nightfall then you need not panic.
Easiest using plasma grenades, you can actually blast holes in the ground to make your own shelters from the cold or the toxic rain. Quickly jumping into these will save your suit, and it means you can afford to venture further afield when exploring a new planet's surface. No need to be bouncing between caves or drop pods as you seek out each new ruin or plaque!
