Gekigami is a hotheaded tiger with a large bow and arrow that teaches you the Thunderstorm brush technique. Thunderstorm allows the player to draw a line from a source of electricity towards an object to electrocute it.

This is utilised heavily during the Oni Island portion of the game, including being used in the boss fight to deal any sort of damage to Ninetails. After this point however, it is not used as frequently, seeing as sources of electricity are not highly common.

You can obtain a weapon however that is constantly emitting electricity, known as the Thunder Edge, which allows you to constantly use this new technique.

You can upgrade this ability much like Inferno, giving you the Thunderbolt brush technique, which allows you to summon lightning out of thin air. While this deals good damage, it does not super effect many monsters, making it much less useful in combat than Inferno.

On top of this, the Thunderbolt side quest is very complicated, requiring a lot of races through Shinshu field with Ida, and then transporting the Gimmik Gear you obtain to Gen in Sei’an City.

While being useful in certain puzzles and situations, overall Thunderstorm is a very mediocre brush technique.
