The brush technique Galestorm is obtained from Kazegami, a horse with a battle fan attached to his back. Galestorm allows the player to draw a spiral on the screen to create a large gust of wind able to blow out flames and even shift platforms.

This technique is used frequently to find stray beads, briefly extinguish flames, and steer lily pads. While these uses might not seem too significant, the secrets that can be found once obtaining Galestorm are quite helpful.

In addition to this, the digging mini-games utilise the Galestorm technique to the fullest allowing you to push your companion over dangerous obstacles.

As far as combat goes, this skill is not great until you obtain the Whirlwind upgrade through a side quest at North Ryoshima Coast. This technique creates a large whirlwind around Amaterasu that can repel enemies during a fight.

This is not the most useful brush technique, being used for plot only a handful of times. Even when it is used in combat, it is not necessary to complete the battle, only really being used in a small portion of boss fights for various purposes.
