10. Kabegami: Catwalk

The Catwalk brush technique is taught to Amaterasu by Kabegami, who is depicted as a cat sitting vertically on a painting eyeing a very large koi fish atop it. Catwalk allows you to draw a line up a wall and then climb along the pawprints that will appear.

While this seems to be extremely useful at first glance, you can only do this at places where the statue of Kabegami resides. These statues do not appear as commonly as you would hope throughout the world, making this ability far from game breaking.

On the other hand, being able to climb vertically up a wall is very helpful in getting to higher places, opening up many more areas where you can obtain yen, adoration, and secret chests. Drawing from the statue outwards also still allows the game to provide jumping and climbing puzzles that don’t involve the newfound climbing ability.

However, you cannot use this ability in combat, seeing as you are almost never in combat near a wall with a statue next to it.

While useful in certain situations, this is definitely not the greatest brush technique found in Okami.
